During Science week the children in Hamilton class learnt about The Human Body. They looked at and put together the bones of a skeleton and learnt about our main organs. The children researched and learnt the job of the lungs, the kidneys, the heart and the stomach and placed them in the correct place on a live size cut out of themselves. They made models to represent the job of the lungs.
On Monday 23rd April 2018, the PSB took part in British Values and St George's Day! First we had a discussion about British Values: what they are, what they mean to us and how we use them in our everyday lives. To celebrate the day the children then followed a recipe to make some scones. They were delicious!
In honour of St George - the staff in the PSB performed the story of St George for the children - the boys had an excellent understanding and could re-tell the story perfectly. They then had a go at acting out the story themselves!
Anti-bullying week - "All different, all equal"
This week in the PSB the children have been showing their support for Anti-bullying week! The pictures below are a sample of some of the activities we have been doing in class. The activities have raised lots of great discussions!
*We made a banner to raise awareness!
*We experimented with smarties and water to compare how, despite the exterior differences, all the smarties are the same on the inside! We then discussed how this might positively change the way we treat people in the future.
*We then did the plaster activity to understand the difference between being treated equally or fairly.
