Welcome

A warm welcome from our Headteacher

Dear Families and Visitors,

I am delighted to be leading Summerswood Primary School on our 'Pathway to Success'.

Together, we are building on our strengths to achieve the best possible outcomes for all children.

Our intent for the curriculum at Summerswood is to ensure that everybody:

1) Reaches their full potential
2) Loves learning and develops life-long learning skills
3) Feels safe, happy and healthy
4) Develops high levels of self-esteem and emotional intelligence, and excellent social skills
5) Is ready for the next step on their educational journey by the time they leave our school.

Our school wants to ensure all children grow to be  happy, caring and inclusive. The staff and governors value all of the pupils equally and celebrate everyone’s diversity. We place a high value on mutual trust and respect. We expect our children to work hard and take ownership of their learning and to demonstrate exemplary standards of behaviour.

Summerswood is determined to work in partnership with parents and carers as we face the challenge of meeting the developmental and learning needs of all children. We place a high value on the positive relationship we have with families, as this partnership is crucial to ensure all children are successful, both academically and socially. Our school is a place where children, parents and staff respect each other.

Across the year the curriculum is reviewed by the Governing Body and Senior Leadership team, to ensure we offer the best possible learning opportunities for every child.

I hope that you will find our website informative, useful and a good introduction to life at the school. However, there is no substitute for visiting the school and seeing us all in action, and we warmly welcome the opportunity to show you around.

Kind regards,

Sarah Kneller
